Want to know what one of the most difficult pieces to your Medicare planning is?
Beginning with the question “Do I Need Medicare at age 65”.
So many people, as they approach age 65, are hounded by robo calls from insurance call centers. Their mailbox is flooded with official-looking mailers. Should you fill them out? Do you have to? Friends and family are all telling them “you have to do this or else….” The Human Resources department at work might have different advice. On and on and on.
But does anyone stop and determine the simple question “Do I Need Medicare at age 65?”.
Not everyone has to enroll, nor SHOULD, enroll into Medicare at age 65. It will come down to a number of factors.
Factors such as: what kind of insurance do you have as you turn 65? Are you still working? How large is the employer that you work for? Are you funding a health savings account? Is your spouse eligible for Medicare as well? Are you retired and have retiree coverage from a former employer? Another on and on and on situation!
